June 12 the National Day of Russia is a day for happy rejoicing and celebration in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, and so here in Sri Lanka the Ambassador for the Russian Soviet Federative Republic Yury Barisovich Materiy hosted an evening of celebration at the Shangri-La Hotel. The chief guest was Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne and many celebrities were invited to the occasion. Sulochana Gamage recorded the moments for memories.
