The Annual ‘Iftar’ of Lake House Muslim Majlis organized by the management of Lake House was held under the patronage of the Chairman, Krishantha Cooray last week.
The event commenced with the welcome address delivered by the President of the Majlis M.R. M Mahroof, and was followed by a special sermon by renowned Islamic theologian from All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama and Deputy Principal of Islahiya Arabic College, Moulavi Abdul Barood on the theme of significance of fasting and co- existence.
State Minister of National Unity and Co-existence M.H.M Fowzie, Deputy Minister Power and Renewable Energy Ajith P. Perera, Deputy Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Faizal Cassim, Deputy Minister of National Integration, Reconciliation and Official Languages, Ali Zahir Moulana and Wanni District Parliamentarian Cader Masthan participated at the event.
The ceremony was also graced by Western Provincial Councillors Ifthikar Jameel and A J M Faayiz, President of the Muslim Media Forum, N M Ameen and President of the Azeez Foundation, Ashroff Azeez.
The Editors of Thinakaran, Daily News, Dinamina, Sunday Observer, Silumina and Resa newspapers, senior management of Lake House, employees and well wishers participated at the occasion.
