So Siripala, acts a proper Siripala except that he loves a bit of philosophy, you know. He thinks the greatest philosopher of the modern age, is George Carlin. Hey, I bet you haven’t heard of him but Paradisians have internet, no. Google the man up. Anyway, since yesterday was voting day and all, Siripala thought the best he could do to educate our Paradisians was to put some Carlinian wisdom in them. Here it goes. I have cut the lunu ambul off the thing, ah. Not right no if not no!!

Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks.

Why Siripala doesn’t vote - thanks to Carlinian wisdom

You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain.
I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.”
So there is some theory to think about don’t you think? hmmm
Mali boy calling it quits
We Paradisians hate a rebel no. But you can’t hate Mali boy because without him, what winning matches men. Only reason he was tolerated was because he was so talented no. If not, they would’ve given him a kaney and told him “get out you Godaya”.
But, all good things have to come to an end, and Mali boy with his goldilocks has said, enough is enough. A straight shooter with the ball and with the gab, hopefully, many will take inspiration from him and talk the talk while walking the walk.

The Teheran protests
Siripala really is a man for all freedoms. You know, anyone should be able to do anything as long as it doesn’t cause harm to another. It’s true with what people say too. Taking offence is only a post 2010 discovery, crying like children against this and that, and saying, “Oh, he offended me”. So what? what if someone offends you? Nothing happens does it?
When was the last time we heard a story that somebody had dropped dead after being offended? Never. So offend all you want, except make sure no physical harm has occurred, no? that should be the philosophy. If not, our moral warriors try to say “ don’t say this, and don’t insult that”- who cares? Ideas must clash with ideas and none should be above scrutiny, Siripala thinks. As long as it doesn’t incite- like what this Bodu Bala, Eelam and Tawheed Jamath types do.
They incite.
Anyway, Siripala is seeing a wave of protests in Teheran. One of the cultural capitals of the world back in the day. Remember a time it was called the Paris of the East. Well, to be honest, any history buff would know that Paris was the Teheran of the West, no?
So, women are taking off their Hijabs protesting the mandatory requirement to wear a hijab. Makes sense right. Saudi and Iran are two countries in which the Hijab for a woman is mandatory and now the women are protesting asking for freedom of choice. Like they did for centuries and millenniums before the 1970s.
But Siripala really doesn’t get it. Now, if there was a tattoo that was forced by the Nazis on the Prisoners- say a Tattoo of a Dragon forced and made mandatory on the Prisoners, could that same Tattoo be used in another part of the world by another set of people saying “ Dragon Tattoo is a symbol of empowerment”? “ I want Dragon Tattoo” “ Dragon Tattoo is my right “ “ Dragon Tattoo is a symbol of Freedom “ and all that poppycock?
They can’t no!!! they can put the Dragon Tattoo on, but spare the world the thought of it being a “symbol of empowerment “ no. These are the kind of issues that keep Siripala awake at night, you know.
