Dr. Daya Edirisinghe has been appointed Professor Emeritus in Philosophy of the University of Kelaniya by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.D. Semasinghe. Prof. Edirisinghe, the first Senior Professor of Philosophy in Sri Lanka and twice Director of Institute of Aesthetics Studies in Colombo, and ex-Chairman of the Official Languages Commission. He was also the President of Sri Lanka Republic of Korea Association.
During his 45 years of University career he has published 30 books and presented 60 research articles in Sinhala, English and Korean Languages.
