Amherst police responded to a call Saturday night after a three-year-old locked her mother out of the car.

AMHERST, Aug 21: A 3-year-old accidentally locked her mother out of her car Saturday night, but eventually was persuaded to let her back in. According to a police report, the child accidentally kicked the vehicle lock button while she was in her car seat about 7:30 p.m. The car was running outside Share Coffee and her mother stepped outside the parked car to talk to another person for a moment, according to the report.
Police reported that the child was eating pizza and not distressed. According to police, she was “eventually persuaded to pull the vehicle handle to open the door.”
