‘People don’t know the full potential of social media’ : Award winning Youtuber

23 July, 2017

At the Social Media Day 2017 he won the award for the most popular YouTuber (education category) and the award for the most popular social media personality in the country. He started his YouTube channel to upload his music, but later, on the request of friends he started to do videos explaining software related issues and technology. He has more than 125,000 subscribers and it is the only YouTube channel with the most subscribers in the country owned by an individual. He is Chanux the owner of the well known YouTube channel, Chanux Bro. This week, we bring you the success story of Chanux who refused to give up on his dreams and worked hard, day and night to make his dreams a reality.

Chanux is a Software Engineer by profession. When he started making explanatory videos on tech gadgets and related topics, Chanux Bro became quite popular among people working/ interested in the field of IT.

“They reached out to me for IT related issues and I made videos to explain the solutions to them. I realised that people liked it when things are explained in a simple manner, so I started making videos explaining complex theories simply, so that any normal person could understand. So, while doing research and finding solutions to their issues, I gather more knowledge,” says Chanux.

Since his channel is an educational one a lot of IT students and lecturers refer to his videos and base their projects on his channel and also contact him for issues related to their projects and assignments.

“They use my videos in my website, Chanux Academy. It gives me pleasure to see young people getting interested in this field and their enthusiasm to do something new with the knowledge I share with them. “People told me not to share my knowledge freely and that I am wasting my time. They said, I could have done a good job in a reputed company with my education. But I always believed in what I am interested in and what I wanted to do. Had I listened to them, now I would be doing a monotonous job and an unhappy human being. I am glad I did not end up being someone like that,” says Chanux.

His idol is Chris Pirillo. He tells us, he always wanted to build a channel like his and share knowledge with others.

“If you are interested in teaching, do a few videos about a topic that will interest or benefit others who have similar interests. You can be someone interested in fashion, cookery, sports, politics or any other subject. Do a video and share it, you would be amazed by the knowledge you gather when you share it with others.”

Chanux is mostly interested in coding/programming. He also loves music, and has had a music band too. He believes people do not know the full potential of social media and how to use it to their benefit. He reiterated that a lot of people waste much time on it and thereby fail to add something valuable to their lives.

“Social media can make a great impact on one’s personality. Use your own Facebook page or Instagram page to your own benefit, and create your own brand among others.”

Chanux thinks people who wish to become a YouTuber should first focus on the quality of the content and not on how much one can earn from it.

“Choose one platform to upload your content and then getting it to other sites is simple. I started with YouTube. When I started I did not even know how to speak before a camera. I had no idea about the technology I should use. But now, within two years I have learnt a lot. I have my own studio to record my videos. You learn with time and it does not matter how you start, it is the effort that matters.”

He wishes to thank all who stood by him, and his fans for encouraging him. He is thrilled to be an inspiration to a lot of young people and says no words can express how happy he is to be of help to others who share similar interests.

“Do what you love and you will never get fed up of it. Believe in yourself and work hard towards your goals. If you have the dedication no one can stop you,” Chanux says.
