
Bhikkhuni Shastravedi Kottawe Shantha Nanda (37) passed away at the Sri Jayewardene Hospital, while being treated for dengue.
An old pupil of Vishaka Vidyalaya, Colombo she graduated from the Buddhist and Pali University and was reaching for her Masters in Arts. She was also a diploma holder in mass media from the University of Colombo.
She has pioneered dhamma and meditation activities in Panadura.
She is the elder daughter of senior journalist Daya Perera formerly of the Lake House and Maubima Publications at present.
Her remains lie at the Shakhadeepa Training and Meditation Centre Galkanuwa Road, Gorakana, Panadura and the cremation will take place tomorrow at 4.00 p.m. at the Gorakana public cemetery.
