Poverty

2 April, 2017

Nothing to eat, for days
Without any source of income
Nowhere to take shelter
In rain and shine
Without money to build a hut
Nothing to feed the children with
For the parents in poverty
No income – no job – no charity
To meet the needs of life
The only solution is to beg from others
From door to door
Wandering along the streets
Poverty needs alleviation
From the state at last
Despite so many plans of
Alleviation – there stand
Thousands of mendicants
Waiting in the queue
Isn’t there a remedy
To aggravating the poverty malady?
