The foundation laying ceremony to launch the construction work of ‘Senease Siyapath Village’ for the people displaced due to the landslide in Aranayaka in the Kegalle district was held yesterday at Wasanthagam, Aranayaka. The project is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Disaster Management, The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd, Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and Dialog Axiata. Power and Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Secretary to the Defence Ministry Karunatilaka Hettiarachchi and representatives of the institutions sponsoring the project were also present.
