A man was found dead within the premises of the Moratuwa University yesterday morning. According to the Police Media Unit, the Moratuwa Police received a call from the guard of the University saying that they have found a dead person under a mango tree within the premises. The deceased has been identified as Manikku Madakurugey Samantha, 43, a resident of Katubedda, Moratuwa.
The police who received the information at about 7.20 last morning visited the place of the incident for further investigation.
According to the police, a sack was found suspended on a branch of the mango tree. Police suspect that the deceased may have fallen off the tree whilst plucking mangoes.
The deceased is not an employee of the University.
