The British School Colombo Choir were crowned overall champion choir and Grand Prize Winners at the Beira Interior International Choir Festival held in Portugal from October 10 – 12 2016.
Shamistha de Silva, Choral Director, was awarded the prestigious “Best Musical Director” Award.
The BSC choir were also judged to be the best in their class, Folk and Pop.
This is the first time the BSC Choir have entered an international choir festival. The Beira Interior International Choir Festival features adult’s choirs from all over Europe as well as further afield. It is a great testament to the standard of singing achieved by the BSC choir to be acclaimed overall champion choir in this prestigious international festival.
This is excellent news for everyone who loves music in Sri Lanka!
