Big splash expected at swimming

A total of 164 events will be conducted at the 48th annual Milo Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Championship to be held from August 23 to 28 at the Sugathadasa Stadium indoor pool.

The championship conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Association will see 140 individual events and 24 relays including diving events.

The events will begin at 8 am each day for boys and girls in the age categories of under-10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 years.

Certificates will be presented to those who achieve the qualified times in the under-10 and 12 age groups.

For those in the over-12 years, certificates and medals will be presented to participants who finish within the first three places and certificates will be given to swimmers and divers who finish up to eighth place according to the organisers

Trophies will be presented to the best individual boys and girls and for the best school in the age categories of under-14, 16, 18 and 20.

As many as 130 boys’ schools, 68 girls schools and 54 mixed schools will be in the fray.
