Football Sri Lanka (FSL) has been told by the world governing body of the sport FIFA to hold an election of office bearers at least 10 days before a team from the island will be able to play its World Cup qualifying round match in October.
The latest development follows a meeting of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) that granted approval to include Sri Lanka in the official World Cup draw held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday (27).
However, Sri Lanka will have to abide by strict conditions laid out by FIFA and AFC to conduct its election of office bearers at least ten days prior to the World Cup qualifying round match against Yemen on October 12 in Qatar. (TBR)
