Eight persons have been arrested in connection with the recent assault on two females and a bhikkhu. A video related to this incident has gone viral.
One suspect was arrested on Friday and the other suspects were arrested yesterday morning following their surrender to Nawagamuwa Police, Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa told the media last night.
The suspects are due to be produced before Courts. Police are trying to ascertain the person or persons who first released the video to the Internet.
The video showed several persons assaulting the Buddhist monk and two females.
