Buvindu Jayawardana-Eliza Kahagalla
Buvindu Jayawardana and Eliza Kahagalla emerged winners in the under-12 boys and girls event respectively at the Colombo Championship Tennis tournament in progress at the SLTA courts at Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha yesterday.
Buvindu of Maliyadeva College Kurunegala beat Damsath Peiris by three sets to nil with Peiris retiring in the third set in the boys’ final.
In the girls’ final Eliza Kahagalla of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya beat Aishath Karim in two sets with Karim retiring in the second set, 6/3, 4/2.
