Veteran player Rusi Captain emerged the winner of the Gold Medal with an aggregate gross score of 288 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club’s (RCGC) South West Monsoon golf tournament held at the Ridgeways course over two weekends that concluded on Sunday (18).
Captain scored 73, 75, 69 and 71 during the four days to add up to 288 gross score. This score was more impressive than the aggregate score of 304 collected by Kushal Johnpillai who finished runner-up.
Young Thejas Kanth played well to win the Squadron Cup with an aggregate nett score of 276 from the four rounds.
This is the first win of a Board event for the 12 years old Kanth who started playing golf two years ago.
The runner-up was Mangala Niyarepola who was just one stroke behind on 277 nett. (TBR)
