Vidyartha-Trinity today

The Vidyartha College versus Trinity College rugby match is expected to be another exciting encounter at the Bogambara Stadium today (25). It is going to be the second clash for the two schools with the kick off at 4 pm.

Vidyartha in their first game beat Science College and Trinity went down to Dharmaraja College. Followers can expect a close battle for supremacy.

KDCA limited over cricket

The limited overs Super cricket tournament conducted by the Kandy District Cricket Association commenced with five teams being invited. They are Kandy CC, Kandy Youth CC, Old Zahirians SC, Old Trinitians SC and Old Rajans SC.

Kandy Youth beat Old Trinitians SC by 107 runs at the Asgiriya Stadium. Kandy Youth scored 210 runs in 49.4 overs and in reply Old Trinitians were all out for 103 runs in 28 overs.

In the another game Old Rajans Sports Club beat Old Zahirians SC by 75 runs at Lake View. Old Rajans SC scored 245 all out in 49.5 overs and Old Zahirians fell short of the target.

In the third game Kandy CC beat Kandy YCC at Pallekele.

Second win for Sri Sumangala

Wariyapola Sri Sumangala College defeated St. Sylvester’s College in their Dialog schools rugby encounter by 28 points (4 goals) to 13 points (2 tries, a penalty) at the Bogambara Stadium on Friday (23).

The winners led 14-3 at half time.

Kandy SC’s 149th AGM

The king makers of club rugby Kandy Sports Club will conduct their 149th annual general meeting on July 30 at the club house. The current president who has completed four years is stepping down and a former rugby player who led the club to great heights is tipped to take over the presidency.
