In 2018, Brown was featured in the Time 100 list of the world’s most influential people and became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, making her the youngest person ever appointed to this position at that time. Born in Marbella, Málaga, Spain, to British parents Kelly and Robert Brown, she experienced partial hearing loss in her left ear from birth, which eventually led to complete hearing loss in that ear over the course of several years. Her family moved back to England when she was four years old and later settled in Orlando, Florida, when she was eight.

From 2013 to 2017, Brown began her acting career with guest appearances in various television series such as Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Intruders, NCIS, Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy. Her performance received critical acclaim, earning her nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series.

Outside of acting, Brown has ventured into other creative endeavors. She appeared in music videos, such as Sigma and Birdy’s “Find Me,” and has been featured in advertising campaigns for companies like Citigroup and Calvin Klein. She has also been a cover model for Vogue magazine. In 2018, she voiced a character in the virtual reality experience Spheres: Songs of Spacetime.

The Hollywood Reporter ranked her among the top thirty stars under the age of eighteen.

In the film realm, Brown made her feature film debut in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and reprised her role in the subsequent sequel, Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). Outside of her professional life, Brown has faced challenges in the public eye. At a young age, false quotes attributed to her circulated on social media, leading to online bullying and inappropriate comments. Brown decided to quit Twitter as a result. She has also been subjected to sexualization in the media and faced explicit material sent to her social media profiles, which intensified when she turned 18 in February 2022.
