Boys and girls singles winners were found in the second week of the ITF Junior tennis tournament held at the SSC courts at Maitland Place yesterday.
India’s Kashit Nagrale emerged the boys’ winner when he beat Artur Alukhanov in straight sets in the final.
The first set was hotly contested with the scores at 7/5. The second set was easily fought out with the Indian winning 6/2. The girls’ singles final was a close contest with Tzu-Ying Tseng of Taipei edging out Priyanka Rana of the USA in a three setter.
Rana won the first set easily on 6/3, but Tzu fought back in the second set to take it with a similar score of 6/3.
The third set was closely fought out and Tzu finished winner on 7/5. (TBR)
