Postal Services have been declared as an essential Public Service by extraordinary Gazette notification no. 2323/02 dated 13 March 2023 under the Essential Public Services Act No. 61 of 1979.
This was done under the direction of President Ranil Wickremasinghe by the Secretary to the President E. M. S. B. Ekanayake.
