Sri Lankan Cricket team leaves for New Zealand on a tour

The Sri Lankan cricket team left Katunayake Airport on their tour to New Zealand, early morning today (27 February).

Tour consists of two test matches, three ODI and three T20 matches. The Two ODI matches are being held as qualifying matches for the Cricket World Cup. The T20 matches will affect the T20 world rankings.

For this tournament 17 players and 12 officials have left, 29 people in total. Dimuth Karunaratne, will be captaining the team that left today for the test matches and Dasun Shanaka will captain the ODI and T20 teams, he and other players are expected to join the Sri Lankan team in New Zealand later.
