A local company has begun manufacturing body and spare parts for three wheelers and it called on the Government to ban if not restrict the imports of such material as the country could save millions of dollars.
Chairman of Milton Motors-H. B. Milton told the Sunday Observer his company could manufacture the necessary parts for all types of three-wheelers in the country.
He said that he had written to the President towards this end and that there are currently 80 employees working in his company, and if he gets Government support, he can provide jobs to more than a thousand young people. Locally manufactured spare parts are priced 50 percent less than imported spare parts and are manufactured from non-corroding raw materials, he said.
