A new chapter in a 17-year long journey begins as the Leos of District 306 C2 Sri Lanka embark on their new leoistic year, led by the District President, Leo Lion Indunil Palihawadana.
The inaugural event of the year, the Annual Installation Ceremony ’22 of the Leo District 306 C2 was held on July 30, 2022. This event was graced by District Chairman for Leos, International Leo Club Program Advisory Panellist of Lions Clubs International, Lion Dr. Lasantha Goonawardena MJF/MAF and many other Lions dignitaries.
This event was joined by the much-anticipated participation of over 400 Leos. One of the hallmarks of this event was the ‘Parade by Leos’, which Leos enjoyed thoroughly and showcased their strength as clubs.
Leo District 306C2 is the largest Leo District in Sri Lanka and consists of over 5000 members and 40 Leo Clubs extended from Colombo to Batticaloa including many school base , university base and community based Leo Clubs. In the membership development 306C2 won the most prestigious most outstanding membership Development District in the world.
Addressing the gathering Lion Lasantha Goonewardena highlighted the benefits of being a Leo and explained the International Leo Club program strategic plan which includes membership development, member experience, transition and international relations.
Past District Governor Nimal Bulathsinghala, Vice District Governor Ranjith Fernando, Chairman and CEO of Horizon Campus and many other dignitaries were present.
