Farmers who have been nominated by farmer organisations to get urea fertiliser should pay the money to the Agrarian Services Centres immediately, a circular to all farmers’ organisations from the Ministry of Agriculture stated. The distribution of urea would be carried out according to the lists that were prepared earlier by the farmer organisations, Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera told the Sunday Observer.
The urea shipment was due to arrive in Sri Lanka yesterday. The Ministry of Agriculture has drawn up plans to distribute the fertiliser countrywide as soon as the stock is unloaded.
