The unexpected revelation comes after the former Twilight star appeared in a TikTok for E! News. The focus of the initial video was intended to be on Taylor’s support for the middle part, but after the actor introduced himself by his full name, TikTok users had questions.
Despite what you may have said, Taylor pronounces his last name so that Laut rhymes with out, E! News notes. Yes, we were also stunned by this revelation. One true Twihard asked the hard question, writing, “Loca, why have you never corrected us?”
For a second video, E! repeated Taylor’s introduction, highlighting the pronunciation. TikTok users were still confused, commenting, “So he’s just accepted that we say his last name wrong?” Another user agreed, writing, “He’s just never told us that we were wrong.” One person summed up our feelings entirely, sharing, “I literally am so upset rn.”
Once your initial shock wears off, it is worth giving the TikTok another glance, as Taylor takes a hilarious look back at his Twilight style. “Although you have attempted to cancel the side part, I am an advocate for the middle part,” he shares. The video then flashes a photograph of Taylor as Jacob Black from Twilight.
For those unfamiliar with the cinematic masterpiece that is Twilight, Taylor’s role as the werewolf Jacob came with quite the change in hairstyle. Beginning the film franchise with long hair that was parted precisely down the middle, Jacob eventually wore his hair shorter.
He closed out the TikTok by again referencing Kendall Jenner’s possible hair influence on Jacob, saying, “Keep the middle part for me or Kendall Jenner.”
