The Annual Research Symposium of the University of Colombo will be held at the university premises from November, 23, to December, 28, 2021.
The main objective of the Annual Research Symposium is to promote academic research that are conducted in different disciplines and to disseminate research findings to the public.
The inauguration ceremony of the Annual Research Symposium will be held on November, 23, at 8.30 am at the New Arts Theatre of the University of Colombo under the leadership of Senior Professor Chandrika N. Wijeyaratne, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo.
The special invitee of the inauguration ceremony is the Minister of Foreign Affairs Professor G. L Peiris who was a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo.
Glopal Baglay, High Commissioner of India will attend the ceremony as the chief guest.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Mohan Munasinge, Chairman of the Presidential Expert Commission on Sustainable Sri Lanka 2030 vision and former Vice-Chair of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Research is an essential and important component in higher education and the main objective of the Annual Research Symposium is to enhance the standards and quality of research that are conducted in various disciplines and to provide active and meaningful academic contribution for the national development. The central theme of this year’s Annual Research Symposium is ‘Impactful Research through an Interdisciplinary Approach’.
