The Athwela National Organisation in collaboration with the Sri Lanka St. John Ambulance Service will disinfect 23 fisheries harbours covering the island under three phases as the next step in the Suwaraksha Athwela disinfection program for the disinfection of public places
including places of worship and police stations.
The first phase of the program commenced at Modara, Beruwala and Tangalle fisheries harbours yesterday and will continue today.
The program is being implemented under the special supervision of Private Secretary to the President Sugeeshwara Bandara, at the request of the Ministry of Fisheries with the intervention of the Chairman of Ceylon Fisheries Harbor Corporation Nilanka Jayawardena.
