Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana on Thursday (July,8) assumed duties as the Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) in charge of Traffic and Crimes.
SDIG Ajith Rohana will head the Police Crimes Division, Police Narcotics Bureau, the Traffic Control and Road Safety Division, the Naval and Tourist Division as well 11 other related divisions.
The Criminal Intelligence and Prevention Division, Crime Reporting Division, Police Kennels Division, Child & Women Bureau, Victims of Crime and the Witnesses Assistance and Protection Division will also be under the preview of SDIG Rohana.
He took over the new posting at a simple ceremony held at Battaramulla according to health guidelines.
