When Billie Eilish posted a cheeky little TikTok lifting a green and black wig off her head, she confirmed what many of her fans were already guessing — that she wore a wig to the Grammys while getting ready to reveal her new blonde ‘do.
On Wednesday, March 17, Billie shared her new blonde hair transformation to Instagram, formally bidding adieu to the iconic green roots era.
But even before she posted, some fans suspected she was wearing a wig, and they got it right.
Platinum shade
“This was in my drafts LOL my hair been blonde for like two months,” Billie also wrote in the comments. As noted by Vanity Fair, Billie’s hairstylist Lissa Renn posted a now-deleted time-lapse of the process to Instagram, where she explained how they got Billie’s black and green hair to its now platinum shade. “The process is real when you’re doing it right. 6 weeks to get all the black out of her ends without damaging it, along with her following my strict hair care regime. We actually loved all the stages of lifting the color too but the end result is [fire emojis].”
Now we officially know Billie has been hiding her blonde under a wig and, not gonna lie, we’re kind of obsessed with the idea of her pulling off an almost two-month-long Hannah Montana.
