
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has made a decision to appoint a new coach for the Under 19 team and head of the coaching of SLC Jerom Jayaratne has confirmed that Dhammika Sudharshana who is already on the high performance coaching staff has been named for the job ahead of the 2022 Youth World Cup.
He is a former Richmond College coach for nearly ten years and has already produced many talented cricketers with some of them being Wanidu Hasaranga de Silva, Charith Asalanka and Kamindu Mendis.
Sudharshana, 44, also played for Richmond and hit a memorable hundred in the big match against Mahinda College in 199.
He was a good right hand batsman and right arm medium paceman who later played for Galle CC, Moors SC and Panadura SC. He had a chance to play Sri Lanka ‘A as an opener but unfortunately missed the opportunity due to injury.
Richmond won several championships under the guidance of Sudharshana.
