Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has made a decision to appoint a new coach for the Under 19 team and head of the coaching of SLC Jerom Jayaratne has confirmed that Dhammika Sudharshana who is already on the high performance coaching staff has been named for the job ahead of the 2022 Youth World Cup.

He is a former Richmond College coach for nearly ten years and has already produced many talented cricketers with some of them being Wanidu Hasaranga de Silva, Charith Asalanka and Kamindu Mendis.
