France confirmed the first cast of more contagious variant of coronavirus which was identified in United Kingdom (UK).
The patient was a French national who had arrived from London on 19 December, according to the French Health Ministry.
They further said the patient is self- isolation at home even though the individual does not show any Covid-19 symptoms.
France closed its border, however, the ban terminated on 23 December. More than 40 countries banned UK flights including Sri Lanka.
Japan, Denmark, Australia and the Netherlands reported cases of new Covid-19 variant.
