An AMBER weather alert was issued this evening (10) by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Center for lightning.
Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Kaluthara, Galle, Matara and Rathnapura districts.
The Department of Meteorology urges the general public to seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
