Sri Lanka badminton player Oshadi Kuruppu who won the women’s team silver medal at the 12th South Asia Games in India is presently suffering critically from Leukemia or blood cancer at the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama.
A family spokesman said she would need financial assistance running into many millions of rupees to undergo bone marrow surgery. Oshadi who has been in the Sri Lanka badminton pool since 2015 obtained a Sports Science and Management Honours Degree from the Sabaragamuwa University in 2919.
Her father Wimaladharma Kuruppu said anyone wishing to make a contribution could contact him on his mobile phone bearing number 0714460762.
He said Oshadi’s bone marrow surgery has to be done urgently according to doctors and two accounts have been opened at the Commercial Bank Kottawa branch bearing number 8008646015 and People’s Bank Maradana branch bearing number 236200113505196 for financial assistance. (DR)
