Some 28,668 postal voters in the Digamadulla electoral district who have qualified to cast their votes at the General Election -2020, Ampara Assistant Election Commissioner’s Office sources said.
According to the sources, nearly 30,481 public servants had applied for postal voting. Applications of 1,813 persons were rejected due to shortcomings.
The sources said that 540 candidates from 20 registered political parties and 34 independent groups are contesting from the Digamadulla district for seven seats in Parliament.
According to the 2019 electoral register, 513,979 persons are eligible to cast their votes in Digamadulla. There will be 525 polling booths in the district.
