Safari Park, a key attraction

The first safari park in Sri Lanka at Ridiyagama in Hambantota opened in March 2012, is a key attraction among local and foreign visitors.

The 500-acre facility accommodates a variety of animals from various countries.

Visitors can roam about in the park in vehicles watching wild animals moving about freely.

There are designated zones in the park, including, for the elephant, African lion, Bengali tiger, the leopard, sloth bear, Asian herbivore, African herbivore, Australian cheetah, as well as the butterfly garden, animal breeding unit and a leisure area for children. The elephants roam in 54 acres, while African lions have been allocated 35 acres. Visitors to the safari park are provided
