Hambantota Airport coronavirus free

The Hambantota Rajapaksa International Airport has taken several measures to ensure the safety of the Airport staff and the public from the spread of coronavirus, becoming a serious problem.

The Airport has placed an embargo on staff members who have gone to China to celebrate the Chinese New Year. They have been advised to stay in China until they are duly informed of the safety for them to return to Sri Lanka.

The entire Airport is being sanitized daily. The employees have been advised to wear face masks and observe health and sanitary conditions, according to the Chief Manager Hambantota Rajapaksa International Airport.

He said on March 18, that the Airport has been certified as ISO 45001, 2008 in compliance with occupational health and safety.

He said the Airport is implementing every possible measure to minimize the spread of coronavirus epidemic in the country under the rules and conditions laid down by the Health Ministry and the World Health Organisation.
