The Sripada National College of Education has decided to temporarily shut down the faculty due to an outbreak of viral fever.
The Kotagala Health Superintendent’s Office has been informed.
Accordingly, the Dean of the Faculty has been instructed to close off the College till February 5.
Nearly 75 students of the Faculty had received from Kotagala Regional Hospital due to fever and respiratory illness from yesterday.
According to the Kotagala Government Regional Hospital's medical officer, nearly 100 students have come for treatment today.
A group of students have been admitted to the hospital while another group has been directed to the Dickoya District Base Hospital.
The Public Health Officers said that they will take steps to inspect the residences of the faculty today and take action to sterilize the areas using an antiseptic.
