The Kanthasaviya women’s organisation distributed exercise books, stationery and school bags to needy school children at the Public Library, Colombo recently. The event was held under the patronage of the President of Kanthasaviya, Feroza Muzammil.
State Minister of International Cooperation Susil Premajayantha was chief guest.
North Western Province Governor A. J. M. Muzammil, Matale District Council Chairman Hilmi Karim and other dignitaries were present. A cultural program by the students followed.
Kanthasaviya has been an active group aiding more 10,000 families in the Colombo District for nearly twenty years.
