Creating healthy products rooted in nature

Inspired by nature Arunprasanth Loganathan commenced 'Iris Garden' three years ago to spread his knowledge of beauty products made out of natural ingredients.The brand produces lotions and face washes. He talks to Youth Observer about the brand.

Q : Tell us about your latest collection of products?

We have introduced two moisturizing body lotions which are 100% vegetarian with the best ingredients put together for healthy and beautiful skin for men and women of all skin types. Dermatologists recommend our brand. We are committed to building trust by creating products and services that match consumer expectations and preferences.

Q : Iris Gardens initially started with Fuller's Earth products. What made you go into other beauty essentials?

'Fuller’s Earth Facial Pack' was where it all started three years ago. It was just the beginning. Our understanding of natural ingredients grew and we believe in making a change. We are trying to spread knowledge through our beauty products in Sri Lanka. Currently our team is working on more than 20 products to be launched in 4-5 months and I’m very excited to bring them all to market.

Q : What drives your products?

Our main driving focus is our community, consumers who look for products and services. We are open to suggestions and feedback to discover a need or solution which should be available in the market. The collective thoughts become an idea on paper. We create a checklist of what is out there and how can we be better and different. This has become our way of life.

Since start-up the brand has got immense publicity. Tell us about your beginning and how successful you now are.

We started at home with a lot of brainstorming sessions with the family on how and what the formulation and complete product should look, and feel. I was happy about the outcome and did the company registration and obtained the test report for the product launch. We opened Facebook and Instagram accounts and initially shared a 'Do-It-Yourself skin remedy', where we started to get a positive response and a following. We introduced the product to a few stores and e-commerce sites where it was accepted. Today, Iris Garden is with more than 50 local retailers, and we deliver locally and globally.

Q : What are you now experimenting with?

Our goal is to create healthy beauty products for men and women of all skin types. We are focusing on giving a complete solution head to toe, 100% vegetarian, chemical-free. Shower Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Scrub, Hair Oil, Lip Balm, Eye Cream, Soap, Mist, Day and Night Cream are all in development stage. We are committed to change all the chemical products in the bathrooms of every household.

Q : Will you be collaborating with any beauty experts?

We intend joining hands with domestic and international leading supermarkets, pharmacies and retailers. Becoming a global brand is where we see ourselves in the future. My head is full of dreams.
