Tip of the Week - Skin Test

It is vital to do a skin test before using any colourant as some people are allergic. An allergic reaction can change from mild itching to severe burning. Hairdressers should insist on doing a skin test 24 hours before applying colourants and most good products for home use now include a skin test which you must do. A small amount of product should be applied behind the ear, or in the crook of the elbow and left for a minimum of 24 hours to check for any bad or allergic reactions.
