A cultural concert “Strings of Peace” to commemorate India’s 70th Republic Day was held at the BMICH on Friday. The event featured performances by Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan along with Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash. The trio was accompanied by percussionists Satyajit Talwalkar and Shubh Maharaj. Former Presidents Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Mahinda Rajapaksa and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior officials and diplomats participated.
