The Special Task Force (STF) took in to custody 92 kilograms of Kerala Ganja during a raid conducted in Morahagahena on Friday. During the raid, another 1.6 kilograms of Hashish was also discovered, the Police said. The total value of the haul has been estimated at Rs. 15 million.
According to the Police, the arrests were made after a special raid carried out where one suspect identified as 30-year-old Don Asanka Udara, was arrested with several kilograms of Kerala Ganja in the Moragahahena area. The Police said on further questioning the suspect revealed several names of his accomplices leading to two more arrests. “The other two suspects were arrested on Friday night in Wellampitiya ” Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
According to Police, the suspects will be handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) while the passports found will be handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.
