An influx of Buddhist and other devotees was witnessed at Sri Pada during the long weekend. The St. John’s Ambulance Association and the Brigade of Sri Lanka together with the members of the National Hospital Accident Service and the Western Province Education Office held a health camp to tend to the young and old who fall sick during the arduous trek to the sacred footprint and the shrine. The place is venerated by Buddhists, Hindus, Christians and the Muslims alike. Here, St. John’s Brigade members and Accident Service Nurses use a nebulizer on an elderly woman to ease her breathing difficulty.
