The Galle Road will be closed for traffic during selected hours of the day commencing today due to rehearsals for the 70th Independence Day celebrations. Accordingly the Galle Road, Galle Face entry road and the Old Parliament roundabout will be closed for traffic between
7 am and 12 noon, the Police said.
The road closures will be in force on January 28, 31 and February 1, 2, 3 at the aforementioned times.
“The public will be informed of the roads which will be closed during the Independence Day celebration and the special traffic plan in the coming days” Police Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
SP Gunasekara also requested that motorists to use alternative routes during the road closures to avoid being inconvenienced.
