
The Department of Government Information and the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday to produce and telecast a series of documentary films to raise public awareness on democratic reforms.
The MoU anticipates producing these documentary films on ten selected subjects such as Media Freedom, Right to Life, Disappearances and Right to Information Act as a joint venture.
Representing the Govt.Informationa Department, its Director General Dr. Ranga Kalansuriya and Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Chairman Ravi Jayewardene signed the MoU. An advisory board comprising Dr. Pradeep Weerasinghe Attorney-at-law, Sudarshana Gunawardene Attorney-at-law, Jagath Liyanarachchi, Shan Wijetunge, Tharindu Jayawardene, Britto Fernando, Kasun Pussewela & Anoma Rajakaruna has also been appointed to assist the project.
