With regard to the article ‘Achieving $ 18 b export revenue by 2020, an uphill task’ that appeared in the Sunday Observer of September 17, 2017, Verite Research on whose report the article was based on, wishes to clarify that Sri Lanka’s market and product composition is a key factor that contributes to slow growth in exports, not its concentration. Further, the study notes that market and product concentration is not a critical bottleneck for export success.
