North Western Provincial Director of Education Sanath Jayalath told the Sunday Observer that all school heads of provincial schools in the Kurunegala and Puttalam districts have been instructed not to permit business promotional activities in schools which is a disturbance to education.
Prior permission has to be obtained from the respective Zonal Director of Education if such programs are to be conducted. The decision to ban such practices in schools was taken following complains made parents’ associations to the NWP Education Department.
The Provincial Director of Education said that those who violate the regulation will be penalized.
