Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne has made arrangements to take over the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital from the NWP-PC as the hospital is to be developed and used as the Medical Faculty that is to be set up at the Wayamba University.
Minister Senaratne told the Sunday Observer that several other medical faculties are to be set up under the management of the Sabaragamuwa and Moratuwa universities .
The Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital would be developed as a Teaching Hospital and a committee has been appointed to design the Cabinet paper under the chairmanship of Prof. Mohan de Silva, Chairman of the University Grants Commission.
