Santhush Gunatileka of St.Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya maintained his top position with a majority of 24,465 votes in the penultimate week’s polling (57,847)votes against his name while
Isipathana’s Sanjula Abeywickrema with (33382) votes remained at the number two slot while Peterite Lakshina Rodrigo who polled in ( 28999) votes slipped down to third place in the division 1 category at the end of the 20th week count in the Sunday Observer/ Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer Of The year contest, 2017.
There were no changes in the other two categories with Piyumal Sinhawansa (St.Anne’s, Kurunegala) and Charitha Basnayake ( Bandarawela CC) occupying the two top positions in division 2 and 3 respectively.
