A three cornered tussle is in the offering between the two Petetrites Lakshina Rodrigo and Santhush Gunatileka and Sanjula Abeywickrema of Isipathana in division one at the end of the 8th week count in the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of The year Contest.

The top three candidates in division one have exceeded 6000 votes, and the difference between Rodrigo and Gunatileka is only 164 votes. Abveywickrema at number is 396 votes behind Rodrigo.

In division two and three the top contestants Piyumal Sinhawansa ( St.Anne’s, Kurunegala) and Charitha Basnayake of (Bandarawela CC) remained unmoved.
